After Care Advice

Below is some information for clients after their reflexology or reiki treatments with me. 

Refreshing Lime Drink

After your treatment

Reflexology is a non-invasive holistic therapy which helps your body to de-stress and heal itself through unlocking and rebalancing. In order for you to feel the full benefits of this it is recommended that you do the following after your treatment.
• Drink plenty of water

• Try to rest and relax after a treatment in order for your body to focus on healing. Understandably this is not possible all of the time, so if you cannot rest immediately, try to take things easy and get an early night.
• Avoid caffeine and alcohol
• Eat well! Enjoy light, healthy food following your treatment if you can.


After a reflexology treatment clients can feel many benefits including:
• A sense of deep relaxation
• improved sleep
• A boost in energy
• A sense of well being
• Improved circulation (Feeling warmer)

Occasional mild side effects

After a reflexology treatment many people feel relaxed, revitalised and energised immediately! However, in some cases clients may feel mild healing effects. This is a perfectly normal part of the healing process and will usually cease within 24 hours.

 

Symptoms can include:
• Mild headaches
• Tiredness
• Nausea
• Runny nose
• Change in sleep pattern
• Feeling more emotional
• Some mild aches in old injuries
• More frequent trips to the toilet!

 

These symptoms should be short lived and are likely to be your body rebalancing after a treatment. If symptoms persist and/or you are concerned, contact your GP. It may be an illness or issue unrelated to the reflexology treatment.
